About the Project

First Coast Roller Hockey is a planned roller hockey facility for the First Coast area. Our goal is to create a dedicated space for leagues, training, and community events — something that currently doesn't exist locally. We're starting by gauging community interest so we can show the real demand that exists here in Jacksonville.
We are exploring potential locations in the Jacksonville and St. Johns County area. The exact location will depend on finding a space that fits the project's needs — size, accessibility, and long-term growth potential. Interestingly, where you live matters: the ZIP codes showing the most interest will directly influence where we look first.
We are still in the early phases of the project. The timeline depends on community interest, funding, and securing the right location. We'll share updates as meaningful progress is made — everyone who signs up will hear from us first.

The Facility

That is the goal, but it's not guaranteed yet. We would love to build a full indoor, climate-controlled facility — especially important here in Florida. However, what ultimately gets built will depend on community support, funding, and overall project costs. Our priority is simple: build a dedicated roller hockey rink for the community, even if that means starting with a high-quality outdoor or covered rink first.
The final version depends on the level of support and resources we're able to secure. Our ideal vision is a full indoor facility with climate control, leagues, dedicated training space, a pro shop, locker rooms, and comfortable areas for players and families. That said, we're flexible in how we get there. If needed, we're open to building a well-designed outdoor or partially covered rink as a first step — something real and usable that we can grow from.
We are planning for a high-quality roller hockey surface designed for both performance and player safety. The final surface choice will depend on the type of facility we build, but player experience is the top priority in that decision.
Yes. We plan to offer rental equipment, especially for new players who want to try the sport before investing in their own gear. Lowering the barrier to entry for beginners is important to us.

Programs & Play

Yes — league play is a major focus. We plan to offer multiple divisions across different skill levels with structured seasons and playoffs. We're also looking at partnering with existing leagues in the Jacksonville area that currently don't have a proper home to play in.
Absolutely. Youth hockey is a big part of the vision here. We plan to offer youth leagues, clinics, and beginner-friendly programs designed to help grow the game among the next generation of First Coast players. We want kids who've never touched a hockey stick to feel just as welcome as seasoned players.
Yes. We plan to offer open hockey sessions, stick-and-puck times, and other flexible opportunities to get on the rink outside of leagues. Not everyone wants to commit to a full season — and that's perfectly fine.

Funding & Partners

The project will be funded through a combination of community support, local sponsorships, and potential investors who believe in growing the sport here on the First Coast. The interest list we're building right now is one of our most powerful tools — it demonstrates to partners and investors that real demand exists in this market.
Yes — we are actively looking for local partners and sponsors who want to be part of growing hockey in the Jacksonville area. Getting involved early means being part of something from the very beginning. Reach out to us at firstcoastrollerhockey@gmail.com and let's talk.

Getting Involved

The most important thing you can do right now is sign up on our interest form and tell people about this project. Community support is what moves this from an idea to a reality. Share this page with your teammates, your hockey parents group, your neighbors — every person you bring in gets us one step closer to opening day.
Not a dime. Signing up is completely free and doesn't commit you to any purchase or membership. What it does is send a clear signal — to investors, to partners, and to the city of Jacksonville — that this community wants this rink.
The best way is to fill out our interest form and check the box to receive updates. Everyone on the list will be the first to hear about location announcements, timeline updates, founding membership opportunities, and when league registration opens. You can also reach us directly at firstcoastrollerhockey@gmail.com.
Send us an email at firstcoastrollerhockey@gmail.com — we actually read every message and will get back to you. If it's a question we're hearing a lot, we'll add it here.
